MENTAL MATHS – I LIKE  MENTAL MATHS BECAUSE  IT IS  A WARM UP   FOR  THE BRAIN BUT ON  MONDAYS I HATE  IT  BECAUSE MY BRAIN DOESN’T WORK ON A MONDAY.

TIMELINE- I FOUND DOING THE TIMELINE A FUN, ARTSY, HISTORY LESSON WITH ADDED OOMPH.  I REALLY ENJOYED WORKING ON THIS WITH LOGAN AS WE ARE VERY SIMILAR AND WE CAME UP WITH EXCITING IDEAS.  WE GOT OUR DAZZLE SHIP INFO FINISHED AND WE GOT TO DO A SECOND ONE ON THE DARIEN DISASTER.  I FOUND THIS A FABULOUS SOCIAL STUDIES LESSON WHICH TAUGHT ME ABOUT THE HISTORY OF LEITH DOCKLANDS.

This week I have learned to correctly rotate, reflect and do translation of shapes. I need to listen a bit more and concentrate a little more.     Jake

My learning successes were maths because I did very well at rotating shapes. I think I need to get quicker at answering maths’ questions quicker. Sophie

One of my successes was in maths- rotating and symmetry because I found it easy. In rotation you really had to think if it could fit into itself. In science, even though we have just started the topic, I have learnt a lot like bacteria is in yeast and yoghurt.  Louis

I thought rotation was hard because you need to get a shape and then turn it and see where it will land. Mental maths has been good because the multiplication has been easier for me.  Destiny

This week we started some science on micro-organisms. I don’t really understand everything yet but I want to learn more. Ava

I think the mental maths computer program is really helping me with my maths because we do it every morning and it is gradually helping me get better at my maths.  Maddie
