Scottish Book week started on Monday 19th November. Primary 1 really enjoyed reading lots of books. Our favourite was ‘Eric makes a splash’ by Emily MacKenzie.

P1 did lots of activities linked to the book.  Eric was very worried about lots of things but his special friend always helped him by offering a solution. In our ‘Talking Partners’ we discussed our own worries and then our partner gave us ideas on how to worry less. We enjoyed designing our own swimming costumes for Eric and making Panda masks.

We re-told the story in our own words and enjoyed sharing our favourite parts of the book. P1 drew their own pictures and created a class book with their fabulous illustrations.

At the end of the week the children shared their work with their parents and we were also given our ‘Book Bug’ bags which had three lovely books and other goodies.
